Kaylan & David | Downtown Paducah Riverfront Couples Portraits by Emily Margaret

Kaylan and I hadn't actually ever met in person until our shoot together. We were both part of a local creatives group and connected over instagram, but somehow managed to miss meeting! She and her husband, David, are practically professional nuzzlers, as you can see, and were so fun to photograph in Downtown Paducah.

Also can I just geek out that we're finally getting some of that glowy fall light around here in Kentucky?  Yes, there's definitely a difference between summer and fall light. #nerdalert

Zach + Kelli | Paducah, KY Downtown Wedding by Emily Margaret

“love is a deeper season
than reason;
my sweet one”

-EE Cummings

On a Saturday in September, Zach and Kelli got married in downtown Paducah, KY. My friend Makenzie asked me to second shoot and assist her and we had a fun day shooting this couple's Tangled-inspired wedding day. Kelli's dress was gorgeous and was pretty much how I used to picture a princess' wedding dress when I was a little girl.

Check out Makenzie's blog post for more photos, including when Zach and his groomsmen drove their jeeps on the sidewalk (yes, really).

Pantone Colors of the Year with F.A.C.E. Makeup Artistry by Emily Margaret

Last month, my friend Erin and I collaborated on a shoot for the 2016 Pantone colors of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity. Erin, who owns F.A.C.E. Makeup Artistry in downtown Paducah, was preparing to teach a class using the two colors so we did a little photo shoot for some promotional images. I'm usually not one for wearing bright makeup and I wasn't sure how the colors would look in everyday life. Let's be honest- some things just look better on instagram, but I was happily surprised to see how wearable these colors were when I saw how they looked on Erin.

What do you think about the Pantone 2016 Colors of the Year? Would you wear them?

Graham - Class of 2016 | Paducah KY Senior Photographer by Emily Margaret

Graham- 2016 senior. Shoots until his arm falls off.

How sharp is this guy? Graham totally pulled of the whole "chilling causally while dressed up" vibe and I love it when senior guys do both a dressed up look as well as a casual one. And it's not easy to look so composed while the tourists walk by, looking at you as well as the local landmarks.

I've known Graham and his family for what seems like forever. He's the same age as my younger sister and Graham's older brother and I graduated high school together. How are you old enough to be a senior, Graham? Gosh these kids make me feel old.
